梁天琦為香港本土派代表人物，2016年以24歲之齡參選香港立法會補選高票落敗，其後因2016年旺角衝突暴動罪成，自2018年起入獄6年。佢2016年嘅參選口號，喺佢本人身陷囹圄之下響徹2019年嘅街頭抗爭，再變成今日香港國安法下嘅禁語。
但本片並非記錄政治明星嘅生涯，而係一個普通人，尋找出路尋找希望，再到失敗無望，面對個人生活同社會局勢急速轉變嘅脆弱同無力，帶出一整代香港人嘅寫照。

At just 24 he captured public attention during the 2016 Legislative Council by-election with a powerful campaign and resonant slogan—one that would later echo through the streets in 2019 before being criminalized under the National Security Law.
But Lost in Fumes is not the story of a political icon. It is an intimate human portrait of a young man searching for meaning hope and direction—only to find uncertainty despair and incarceration. As Leung grapples with rapid changes in his personal life and the volatile political climate his journey speaks to a generation of Hongkongers navigating loss identity and resistance in a city that no longer feels the same.
