Learn how the sweet aroma and taste of peaches can bring a little therapy to your homesteading journey.About this Event
We're approaching peach season in the Sandhills! We can't wait to enjoy fresh sweet peaches and to preserve them for later. Did you know that smelling peach scents can also be wonderful for boosting mood? Smelling peach scents offers mood-boosting benefits, acting as a "joyful fragrance" that decreases stress, promotes relaxation, and encourages a friendly, comfortable, and nostalgic atmosphere. Its fragrant and fruity aroma is known to boost energy, enhance focus, and arouse feelings of comfort and joy.
Attendees will learn how to freeze peaches to make the Peach Cobbler recipe at home. What will we do with the peach scraps after prepping the cobbler? In this hands-on class attendees will learn to make peach syrup from “peach scrap” using the water bath method. Peach syrup can be used as a topping for ice cream, or waffles. It can also be used to make marinades and in cocktails or tea.
Attendees will further explore “peach therapy” for mind and body by making Peach Bellini Bath Sugar Scrubs and Peach Bath Bombs.
