In the Sandhills, we enjoy fresh juicy peaches and strawberries in late spring and into the summer. Learn how to keep your local fruits and other favorites for enjoyment throughout the year in our Homesteading basics: Freezing Fruits class.
In this class you will learn techniques for preserving fruit via freezing. We will explore the following methods:
Tray Pack (dry method)
Dry Pack without Sugar
Sugar Pack
Syrup Pack
Puree Method
We will also cover tips for maintaining the quality and texture of fruit, as well as recommended freezing containers. As a bonus attendees will sample beverages made using both the tray method and puree methods of freezing fruit.
