Become a citizen scientist while exploring different types of wetlands. Investigate the marsh, hike through the marsh over boardwalks, and put your citizen scientist skills to the test by exploring a vernal pool. Park in the main parking area and meet at the trail map west of the restroom. Cost is $6.00 per child and free for one adult chaperone per child ticket. This program is meant for students aged 6-15. This program does include a hike which will be up to one and a half (1.5) miles. We will be walking on dirt/gravel, grass, and board walk. There will be a few hills. Registration ends April 27, 2026, at 8:00AM. Registration limited to 30 people.
To register, please call the Wayne County Parks front desk to register (734-261-1990). Note you will need to pay over the phone by credit card or come into the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center (Westland) to pay by cash, credit card (Visa/Mastercard), or check. Hours are between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Saturday, closed Noon-1:00 PM for lunch. For more info, please call 734-261-8991.
No refunds, if it is canceled by Wayne County Parks, we will add a credit to your account for a future program. Parents/chaperones must accompany children at all times during our programs.
