5-9 years old: Exploring Estuary Animals
You never know what creatures you'll find in the estuary. Students will meet some of our favorites and get the chance to explore the salt marsh to learn about adaptations of observed wildlife and human impacts on the salt marsh. We'll also meet the only turtle that calls the salt marsh and estuary home!
10-18 years old: Discovery Vessel Program
Students will go out into the estuary on our education vessel and collect water quality data and sample marine organisms that are collected by a trawl net. They will learn about adaptations of the organisms caught, about local conservation issues, and benefits of the estuary while developing critical science investigation skills.
Students will have first priority for space on the boat. Chaperones may only attend if space allows.
