Join us for an afternoon full of homeschool-geared fun!Beginning at 1:30 pm, staff will give a detailed introduction to the kids archaeology simulator. Perfect for homeschooling families studying archaeology, geology, and/or history, this is sure to be the ideal accompaniment to the curriculum! After the 15-minute introduction, students will spend approximately 30 minutes digging in our non-sensitive dig pit, using real archaeology tools and sifting for artifacts.
Next, at 2:30 pm, Jr. Explorers (nature theme) will begin!
Jr. Explorers is a hands-on educational craft hour designed to teach young students through stories and play. We will begin at 2:30 with a story read aloud to the group. Our craft this week will be "sewing" a felt flower pot (with blunt, plastic needles and pre-punched holes in the felt), which we will then take with us on a nature walk to collect organic items such as leaves, twigs, and pinecones to make a bouquet! This activity helps to build fine motor skills, bilateral hand use, nurtures creativity, and independence. Recommended for ages 3-12.
These special events are included with regular admission to America's Stonehenge.
