Traveling Exhibit: Finding Titanic: The Secret Mission (10AM-5PM)
Finding Titanic: The Secret Mission reveals the remarkable story of how Dr. Robert Ballard discovered the wreck of the RMS Titanic—a discovery that began as a classified Cold War mission. Under the guise of searching for the Titanic, Ballard was tasked with documenting two sunken nuclear submarines, the USS Thresher and USS Scorpion. Through themes of science, perseverance, and problem-solving, educators can help students uncover how Ballard overcame immense challenges and how his work reshaped our understanding of the deep ocean.
