Highlights of your Capitol Day field trip can include:
-Helping distribute sweet treats and homeschool fact sheets to legislators
-Meeting personally with your own state legislators (make appointment prior)
-Touring the Capitol and the Dome (Call 785-296-3966)
-Observing the legislature in action
-Learning from legislators and others about how Kansas government works
-Hearing from author, speaker and original underground homeschooler Israel Wayne
Building a positive relationship with our state legislators will help keep homeschools thriving in Kansas. Meeting up for Homeschool Capitol Day provides the encouraging presence of other homeschool families as well as many firsthand educational experiences!
