Join us for a fun and community-focused Homemakers & Homesteaders Swap, hosted at NewBo City Market as a collaboration between Cedar Rapids DIY Club and ABC Acres. This relaxed gathering brings together makers, bakers, growers, and DIY enthusiasts to exchange homemade goods, share skills, and build local connections. How It Works: Each participant should bring 5 homemade items to swap with others. Items may be edible or non-edible and must be things you personally made.
What to Bring:
🧺 5 homemade items to swap
📝 Ingredient lists for edible items (including common allergens)
💼 A business or contact card (optional but encouraged) so others can find you again 😊 A willingness to connect, trade, and share ideas
Swap Ideas (for inspiration only — get creative!):
Edible Items: Sourdough bread or baked goods Cookies, bars, or muffins Jams, jellies, or fruit butters Spice blends or rubs Herbal teas or drink mixes Homemade butter, caramels, or candies
Non-Edible Items: Candles or wax melts Soaps, salves, or body care products Cleaning products Knitted, crocheted, or sewn items Art, prints, or handmade cards Garden seeds, dried herbs, or plant starts
$5 will be collected to help cover the cost of the meeting space. This swap celebrates handmade living, self-sufficiency, and community. Whether you’re a seasoned homesteader or just starting your homemaking journey, you’re welcome here! We can’t wait to swap with you 💛
