Learn to make, taste and take home Norwegian lefse - a delicious potato flatbread!
Lefse is a staple food in Norway that evolved from a hard-tack cracker into a soft, tortilla-like flatbread with the introduction of potatoes to the country. In the U.S. lefse is often a holiday treat but can be a part of everyday life due to its simplicity and versatility.
Participants do not need any prior culinary experience and will learn how to make lefse from beginning to end, sample freshly made lefse and take some home.
This is a beginner-level class, appropriate for those interested in culinary arts ages 12+ (with a registered adult guardian for those under 16).
Participants should bring an apron and/or clothing that can get full of flour. If students have any lefse cooking supplies, they are encouraged to bring them.
