HOME v.2: HomelandExhibition Run: May 29th – July 18th, 2026
Location: Fourth Floor Gallery of the Decatur Library
Gallery Hours: Thursday to Saturday, 1-5pm
Opening Reception: Friday, May 29th 6:30-9pm
About the Exhibition:
Housing is a fundamental human right, the cornerstone of stability and opportunity. It's where families grow, dreams take root, and futures are built. But for many, the dream of a stable home in Decatur is slipping away. A stark reality faces our community: housing costs are skyrocketing while wages struggle to keep pace.
The Decatur Arts Alliance and the Decatur Land Trust are partnering with the Georgia Center for the Book and the Decatur Library to present a powerful art show, Homeland. We invite professional and student artists of all mediums – painters, sculptors, photographers, mixed media artists, and more – to lend their creative voices to this important cause.
The HOME Exhibition is a juried multimedia showcase presented in collaboration with the Decatur Land Trust. The exhibition will be shown in the Fourth Floor Gallery of the Decatur Library, home to the Georgia Center for the Book.
About the Decatur Land Trust:
The Decatur Land Trust works to ensure that Decatur remains a place where everyone can afford to call home — permanently. We create and preserve affordable homeownership opportunities so that our community stays diverse, rooted, and welcoming for generations to come.
This exhibition is generously sponsored by Ameris Bank, Chad and Christina Carter Real Estate, Lockman Homebuilding, and Russell Elam with Geneva Financial. THANK YOU to these local businesses for supporting important community initiatives.
