Sergeneno Rankin, Environmental Program Coordinator for Volusia County, will share practical tips on selecting and incorporating homegrown native plants into your landscape to create a more resilient and environmentally friendly yard. Learn how choosing the right native species can reduce maintenance needs, conserve water, and support local wildlife while helping protect Florida’s waterways. The workshop will include a live demonstration showcasing thoughtful plant combinations and how to identify native, non-native, and invasive species. Participants will also learn how to make a natural bug repellent using Florida native beautyberry.
