About this Event
The laughter is coming to Ithaca when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at Brewer's Kitchen and Taproom on Thursday, July 23. Kenneth McLaurin is headlining the show and Stephen Brown and Mike Brindisi are joining host Mike Peters.
The show starts at 6:30 p.m. The doors open at 6 p.m. It's a completely free show. Just tip the staff well.
About the comedians:
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast.
Mike Brindisi has spent the last 17 years touring and performing with his band and a stand-up comedian. His love for music, comedy and acting has created a hybrid of a show like no other and has allowed him to show his work on Saturday Night Live, The Howard Stern Show, MTV and the Vans Warped Tour. Give him a microphone and he’ll entertain you with high energy from start to finish.
Stephen Brown is a comedian from Binghamton who is way too open for his own good. A former musician and a father of three boys, Brown is a fantastic story-teller with years of ammunition. He’s able to turn the most embarrassing situations in his life into comedic currency for everybody to enjoy. He produces shows at Crooked Mouth Brewing in Endicott and is the founder of the Crooked Mouth Comedy Festival. He’s also a regular at the Syracuse Funny Bone.
Kenneth McLaurin has long gone by the moniker "The Funniest Person You've Never Heard Of," but because of the success of his freshman album, "Cuttin' Up, Comedy at The Shop," he now adds the title of most listened to person on Spotify in the Village of Ithaca. Witty, clever, insightful and sometimes shocking, but always funny is what you get with McLaurin.
