About this Event
We are excited to invite all home-schooled children to join our new Home School Art Club! This monthly gathering is a wonderful opportunity for home-educated students to come together in a creative environment, share ideas, and develop their artistic skills.
What to Expect:
To start, we are hosting these sessions once a month, and we encourage participants to attend regularly. Each session will focus on a different art assignment, designed to build on the skills learned in previous workshops. By attending consistently, children will not only refine their techniques but also experience significant artistic growth over time.
This art club is more than just a series of workshops—it’s a space for home-schooled children to connect with like-minded peers, socialise, and collaborate on creative projects. We believe it's vital to foster an environment where children can express themselves freely and learn from one another while making lasting friendships.
This Month's Session: Watercolour Painting
For our upcoming session, we will be exploring the beautiful and versatile medium of watercolour. Watercolour painting is a fantastic starting point for young artists because it allows for easy experimentation with layers and nuances of colour. It offers quick results, which can be very encouraging, especially for those who may feel hesitant about their artistic abilities. Watercolours also lend themselves well to abstract expression, making them perfect for children who are just beginning their artistic journey.
Lio, our skilled painter, will guide the children through the essential techniques of using watercolours. He will demonstrate how to blend colours, create gradients, and experiment with different brush strokes—all while encouraging each child to work at their own pace and develop their unique style. Mathilde will assist by providing additional support and ensuring that every child feels confident and inspired throughout the session.
Additional Information:
- Materials: All art supplies will be provided, but we encourage each child to bring a folder to store their artwork. To add a bit of fun, we will be giving out smiley stickers for the children to decorate their folders with!
- Instructors: The session will be hosted by Lio, with assistance from Mathilde.
Join us for this enriching experience, where creativity knows no bounds, and every child can explore the joy of making art in a supportive and inspiring community.
