About this Event
When we first opened Harriett's, Mama Sonia Sanchez called me and said, "My dear sister, remember as you do this work, you never ever have to do a single thing alone. The hood in sisterhood is a sacred covering."
And with her turning 90 years old this September, and with us ready to embrace the next phase of our mission, we are creating A Home for Harriett's. A literally home for you all. While traditional book talks are nice, what we are envisioning is something far deeper and more intimate.
There are some things you can only discuss with your homies behind closed doors--especially in the face of today's social hand grenades.
So for this series, Home Girls & Hand Grenades, you can take off your shoes, let down your hair, eat, drink, laugh, cry, and plan to be inspired by adrienne maree brown & Friends.
Our vision for this weekend is that you'll be loved on in the safety of giant house, while we discover, declare, and decree the past, present and future of our literary tradition.
This series of events will take place for a limited number of homies at a private residence.
Each event has an accompanying book and signings that are covered by your ticket price, but this is far deeper than an author chat—it’s about being transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Address will be shared upon ticket confirmation.
