Join us for a Home Education Day based all around Construction!
What to expect on the day;
Our presenter led shows are hands on sessions aimed at developing skills and knowledge. Each session is aimed at different ages and is perfect for exploring different ideas around Construction.
Aquaducts - The workshop begins with a discussion on canals with a focus on the Llangollen canal, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and what a World Heritage Site is. Work in teams to build your own canal, complete with aqueduct whilst considering the cost of the build. The canals will be tested at the end by the Science Communicator to see whether they have met the criteria
Solar Fair challenges you to think about how solar panels capture the suns energy to produce electricity. This is achieved through creating a stable and moving fairground ride.
Structures and Construction kit encourage you to be adaptable and think outside the box to complete the challenges. These activities also show that failure is alright and an opportunity to learn and change from mistakes.

- Everyone who attends needs a ticket, including accompanying adults and siblings.
- Children under 3 years old are free.
- All children attending the event must be supervised and accompanied by their grown-ups at all times.
- Children under 5 will not be able to take part in activities.
- If you are intending to bring older or younger children into the sessions, please bear in mind that the content may not be engaging for them, and restless behaviour can affect the enjoyment of others in the audience. We will be happy to recommend alternative things to do that might be more relevant.
