Home Defense: Room Clearing Tactics (Level 1) : NON LIVE FIRE COURSE

This 4.5 hour course is designed to introduce concepts of clearing a structure and moving throughout a home in a safe manner. Techniques and skills presented include topics such as using cover and concealment; engaging threats; working angles; fatal funnels and more. This course will address encountering and engaging threats within your home and will address force encounters, to include non lethal and lethal responses.

The course will include legal discussion & topics as well, to ensure that not only are you operating safely and applying effective tactics, but you are operating within the scope of the law.

This course will take place in a sterile environment. There will be NO LIVE FIRE in the course and no FIREARMS/AMMO will be allowed. 1:9 Tactical will provide training aids and airsoft pistols for this training. There will not be force on force – students will not be engaged with airsoft/UTM’s during this course. (We do offer this in the level 2 training course). We will provide all required gear for this course.

Student Requirements: Must be proficient and safe handling a firearm;

This course will be instructed by Dan Gaskin, who is a former Law Enforcement Sergeant with over 18 years of experience. Dan spent the greater majority of his career working in a Special Investigations Role focusing on violent crime investigations, as well as serving on a SWAT team in Central Florida. His experience includes executing hundreds of high risk warrants and operations as well as supervising and planning such operations. He has been training civilians and law enforcement officers for over a decade across the country.
