About this Event
This is Wendy Chan's Fall Cooking Class in the NEW Jefferson Teaching Kitchen! The menu is:
1. Steamed meat buns(bao):Fall’s comfort food, soft, savory and sweet dough made with flour and local pumpkin, filled it with pork, carrots, scallions and spices.
2. Soup for the souls:Learn about this home style nutritious soup made with fresh chicken, local chestnuts, carrots, corns, jujubes, goji berries and ginge, a remedy for a chilly day.
3. Wendy’s hand pies(apple & pear):It’s all about the flaky and flavorful crust (butter, Crisco & local lard), filled with sweet gooey local apples & pears for a delicious tea treat.
