About this Session:
In this 3 hour session, participants will gain essential knowledge and practical skills to enhance their preparedness for emergencies and natural disasters. The session will cover foundational concepts, including how to create emergency plans, assemble disaster supply kits, and respond effectively in various scenarios such as floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other crisis situations. By the end of the session, attendees will be equipped with the confidence and resources to safeguard themselves, their families, and their communities in the face of unforeseen disasters.
About Ready Eureka:
The Humboldt Bay Fire CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and the City of Eureka have joined forces to create the "Ready Eureka" program. This comprehensive initiative is designed to empower local residents, businesses, and organizations by providing free training in a wide range of emergency preparedness topics.
The program will cover essential skills such as disaster response, first aid, fire safety, evacuation procedures, and communication strategies during emergencies. Participants will also learn how to assemble emergency kits, develop family or business emergency plans, and stay informed during natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, and wildfires.
"Ready Eureka" aims to build a more resilient community by ensuring that everyone—from individuals and families to business owners and employees—has the knowledge and tools needed to respond effectively in times of crisis. The program welcomes all community members to take advantage of this invaluable opportunity to prepare for unforeseen events, ultimately helping to keep the Eureka community safe and strong.
