A holy well is a sacred spring or pool that is a site of pilgrimage, miracles, and stories of faith. At St. Paul’s Holy Well gatherings, we seek wisdom and inspiration found in the depths of the Christian liturgical calendar and related cultural traditions, and their connections to the seasons of the natural world, through learning, conversation, and creative and contemplative spiritual practices. For any questions, contact co-facilitators Jane Nesmith or Stephanie Heifner. On Thursday, September 18, from 6:30–8:00 p.m., we will celebrate Michaelmas, or Feast of St. Michael and All the Angels (September 29). This falls near the autumn equinox, which is the end of the harvest season in the northern hemisphere. We will consider the importance of marking time and the changing seasons and learn about traditions and legends associated with St. Michael.
