Atlanta Freedom Bands kicks off its 33rd season with "Holidays on Peachtree Street", featuring seasonal selections that highlight the landmarks along our city's most famous street. Peachtree Street is always aglow with holiday lights and happenings. Our program takes us from the elegance of the Fox Theatre to the dizzying heights of the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel. Along the way we take in the madness of the DragonCon parade, the memory of Backstreet, and the mayhem of SnowMageddon. We even take a side trip along to the famous Royal Peacock on Auburn Avenue for a night with Ray Charles.AFB will stage its largest concert band yet with over 90 musicians on stage! We will also welcome special guests from our friends at Voices of Note!
AFB will welcome Victoria Lemos as your host and tour guide to all the sights. Victoria hosts the Archive Atlanta podcast, and she is looking forward to telling you some of the hidden histories behind these famous places. You will leave educated and entertained!
The tenth season of AFB’s Student Composer Residency Program will kick off with the world premiere of “Midnight Snowfall”, a new work by Jacob Cirabisi, a music major at the University of West Georgia. You won’t want to miss the chance to meet this up-and-coming compositional talent.
Tickets are $20 general admission, $15 seniors, $10 students.
The concert will also stream live from AFB’s YouTube channel.

Parking is available in a parking deck behind the church and in nearby lots and streets.
AFB’s “Holidays on Peachtree” concert is supported in part by the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs. Funding for this program is also provided by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners under the guidance of the Fulton County Arts Council. The concert is supported in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. GCA also receives support from its partner agency - the National Endowment for the Arts.
