A seasonal celebration for 2S/LGBTQQIA+ families and our allies!Presented Annually by Dragging Youth Shows + Edmonton Lesbian* Event Network
We are once again hosting a celebration for the winter time on behalf of DYS and ELEN at the UCE. This event is a kid friendly, queertastic party for the season that is FREE, followed by a Dragging Youth Drag show (tix required, limited low income available). Check out the resource fair, get a pic with Santa, have fun with art and games then stick around to mingle and bring cash to tip you fabulous performers who donate their time.
While looking at ways to make our all ages party more representative of other cultures and identities while also making sure to make space for our values of connecting supporting organizations, we are now welcoming community partners to table Dec. 6th 3-5/6pm. Please get in touch if you represent a local organization. Our resource fair is focused on providing free tables to groups that serve, include and uplift Queer & Trans* humans. We are also hoping to represent other perspectives and more diverse celebrations for the winter season.
Things to expect:
-Resource Fair with Local Orgs + Groups
-Unique Photo Op with Santa!
-Fun activities and easy games
-Free special gift for youth under 15 (must pre-register)
-Sensory & Quiet Spaces to relax and wind down
-Cinderella's Drag Closet for dress-up fun
-Art stations, colouring and simple crafts
Resource Fair: We are welcoming organizations that support the local Queer community for FREE tabling spaces at this event. Including but not limited to: groups, clubs, teams and more. Get in touch to find out if this event would be a good fit for your org
Drag Show tickets: $7 advance/$10 door (CASH ONLY), $16 ticket and meal package, $5 alcohol (18+ ID required)
Advance tix: draggingyouth.myshopify.com. DYS will also accept e-transfer for tickets to avoid fees. Contact DYS to enquire about a limited number of reduced price admissions if financial barriers are present.
The Unitarian Church of Edmonton (UCE) is fully accessible and has gender neutral washrooms.

“The Unitarian Church of Edmonton is a sponsor of Dragging Youth Shows. Dragging Youth has monthly Shows at the Unitarian Church of Edmonton (UCE). UCE has no stairs going into the building or to public areas. There is a button operated door at the front. A lovely ramp for performers to get on stage. Plus accessible, gender neutral washrooms. Chairs in the Sanctuary are easily moved to accommodate various needs. UCE also has a quiet room where shows can be viewed with decreased stimulus. Plus there is a free app which sound can be played through your device for those hard of hearing.” uce.ca
