About this Event
Instructor - Gitty Jakubowicz
Gitty is passionate about blending diverse interests to explore new concepts. Her love for the theremin, viewed through a musical lens, fuels her enthusiasm for this electrifying class. With a high capacity and enduring frequency for one too many puns, she invites you to join her on a journey through the vibrant world of sound and electronics!
Class Description
The class follows a guided instruction on building the Theremin MicroKit. This will include an introduction to working with basic electronic components like breadboards, transistors, resistors, capacitors, and so on in the context of theremin technology and will be complemented with explanations of the applied electronic concepts, as well as brief historical and mathematical contexts. While the kit does say ages 10+, curiosity for the unconventional knows no age! New or more experienced engineers, musicians, tinkerers, and lovers of trinkets of all ages alike will enjoy the journey encompassing electronic engineering insights, hands-on application, and a brief view into a beautiful piece of technology which pioneered many advances still used today!
Material Fee
The materials fee for this class is $30. This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class. This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor accepts payments in cash or through Venmo or CashApp.
