In the spirit of the season, Jayne Allen, author of the holiday-themed romantic comedy The Most Wonderful Time, will sign copies of her books at Shops on Top, Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
A Detroit native, Jayne Allen draws inspiration for her fiction from her own life, describing each character as “fragments of reality strung together to tell stories that stick to your bones.” She is best known for her Black Girl Must Die Exhausted series, a genre which she describes as “chocolate chick lit with a conscience,” exploring themes of contemporary womanhood. Most recently, Allen coauthored The Best Man: Unfinished Business with Malcolm D. Lee, creator of The Best Man film and television series.
