About this Event

Do you want to learn Hokkien to communicate with your grandparents? Or are you working in the healthcare industry and would need to know some medical terms or give instructions in Hokkien?

Your time is too precious to be wasted. At LearnDialect.sg, we want to help you listen and speak basic conversational Hokkien in the shortest time possible. This Hokkien workshop – conducted in English – is perfect for beginners, even if you don’t have any Mandarin background. Are you ready for a highly-focused Hokkien workshop?


2 x 4-hour Hokkien Workshop for Beginners 

Date: 14 & 21 August 2021 (2 sessions total)

Time: 9am to 1pm

Medium of Instruction: English 

Topics include:

✔ Common Body Parts & Medical Terms

✔ Hobbies, Daily Activities & Food

✔ Hokkien Slangs and Idioms

An e-certificate of attendance will be awarded when you complete both sessions. Hurray!

Safe Distancing and Safe Management Measures

We will be putting safe distancing and safe management measures in place, including cleaning and disinfecting our training room and high-touch surfaces, contact tracing, and temperature screening. There will also be checks on visible symptoms (coughing, sneezing, breathlessness, or running nose) before entering the classroom. We seek your kind understanding and cooperation that any participant who appears unwell will be asked to leave the workshop. All participants are also required to wear masks at all times during the workshops.
