About this Event
One day you’ll be responding to 999 calls and the next you’ll be helping people to understand how to keep themselves and their loved ones safe.
You don’t need any prior firefighting experience to join us as full training is provided. Having a workforce of different backgrounds, experiences, life skills and approaches helps us to deliver a better service and make our community even safer.
Come to our recruitment open day at Basingstoke fire station on 30 May 2026 and learn more about the role and get hands-on with firefighting equipment.
On the day you can:
- Get advice on how to apply and prepare for interviews
- Ask current firefighters any questions you have
- Try out the practical selection tests included in the recruitment process
- Learn more about the various aspects of a firefighter's role, including community fire prevention work
