For National HIV Testing Week, SSHS will be running a free training session on understanding HIV and how it affects you.About this Event
This session is an up to date introduction to HIV and its effects which will cover topics including:
- Understanding the difference between HIV & AIDS
- How HIV is transmitted and how to reduce the risk
- Which communities are at increased risk of HIV and poor sexual health
- Figures and stats to how many people are living with HIV in the UK and worldwide.
- Advances in treatment and testing options
- What it's like to be living with HIV in 2025
- Stigma and discrimination
- Signposting where to go for help, advice and testing locally.
This professional training is multi-agency and is suitable for anyone with an interest in sexual health, and requires no previous knowledge on the subject.
When it comes to accessing the training, you will recieve an email invitation the day before it begins.
