History Scavenger Hunt

Join us for a HISTORY SCAVENGER HUNT that can be completed as a family or small group adventure. Participants will learn about Wolcott’s local history, historic landmarks and patriots from the American Revolution.

This event will take place on Saturday, April 18th at 12 noon. Teams will meet at the Center School History Museum at 154 Center Street Wolcott, CT. The final location will be revealed with provided clues from each site.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• This event will take place (RAIN OR SHINE).
• Approximate event run-time is 1-2 hours.
• Participants may use a smart device.
• Transportation is needed to participate.
• Participants must visit all 9 historic sites.
• Registration is required.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

1. RETRIEVE THE BROCHURE. (Pick up a brochure at location start to begin your adventure)
2. VISIT 9 HISTORICAL LOCATIONS & COLLECT 9 CLUES. (At each site you are asked to take a clue from the designated container and move onto the next historic location)
3. TEAMS USE CLUES TO REVEAL FINAL LOCATION.
4. THE FIRST 3 TEAMS to arrive at the final location win a prize.

Volunteers will greet you at the final location and share the last bit of history. The first three teams to complete the scavenger hunt will be awarded prizes. Our goal is to provide this activity to engage all ages in learning and “doing history.”
