About this Event

Join History of Art for the next talk in the Research Seminar Series chaired by Dr Kirsten Lloyd.

FAN: Feminist Arts News was a magazine produced in the UK ‘by and for women artists’ between 1978 and 1993. This talk – from a forthcoming book on the subject – will introduce its history, proposing that periodicals were vital not only for communicating new feminist histories but for actively shaping them.

Victoria Horne is an Assistant Professor in Arts at Northumbria University. She recently edited Counter Print: The Alternative Art Press in Britain after 1970 (MUP, 2025) and is a Leverhulme Research Fellow in 2025–26.
