Join us as we host our monthly History for Lunch on Wednesday, April 1st at 12 pm.Enjoy Julianne Laird and Richard Workman of J. R. Shanty Co. as they present sea shanties, songs of the sea, and historical songs of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Their repertoire includes folk songs and original compositions about local legends and historical figures, including Betsy Dowdy, Theodosia Burr Alston, Nell Cropsey, the Wright Brothers, Virginia Dare, Edward Teach, Richard Etheridge and the Pea Island Life-saving Station Crew, and the Midgett family of the Chicamacomico Life-saving Station Crew. Accompanying themselves on cello and guitar, their stories and songs are filled with musical excellence, attention to historical detail, and humor.
***The Museum will offer the History for Lunch program IN-PERSON ONLY. Registration is not required.
