Children entering grades 3-5 in 2026-27
Different daily experiences Mon. - Thurs. June 15-18, 2025, 9:00-12:00, including hands-on activities, and old-fashioned snacks. Create many take-home projects.
Brought to you by certified teachers of the MVHS education committee.
· Experience daily life in the 1800s: Learn how early settlers did laundry, cleaned rugs and lamps, changed the feather "ticks" for their beds, made candles, churned ice cream, and carried out other chores.
· Spend a day learning about Native Americans: doing tasks the Native Americans would have done. Experience food, games, and other craft skills of the Native Americans.
· Experience writing with quill pens, reading from McGuffey Readers, and doing math problems on a slate in an authentic one-room schoolhouse.
· Create items with hands-on activities for fiber production and weaving in the Farmhouse.
