Join us as we commemorate “The Overturned Jury,” recognizing the 1976 case involving a series of deaths at the Ann Arbor Veterans Administration Hospital that drew international attention and resulted in a rare Judgment Notwithstanding the Verdict.The event will feature remarks from University of Michigan lecturer Roland Hwang, Michigan State University professor Geri Alumit Zeldes, 36th District Court Judge Jacquelyn McClinton, State Bar President Lisa Hamameh, and Executive Director Peter Cunningham.
A bronze plaque commemorating the case will be unveiled, and light Filipino refreshments will be served.
