The Collin County History Museum is fortunate to have more than twenty historic quilts in its collection, dating from 1868 through the mid-1900s. A selection will be featured in a special pop-up exhibit during April and May.Highlights include a red, white, and blue quilt made from Texas State Defense Guard patches dating to World War II, a VFW quilt created in 1938, and a Whig Rose pattern quilt with Masonic symbols made by Rachel Caroline Heard and brought to Collin County in 1875.
Quilt historian Stephanie Hanson will present a special program on Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m., sharing insights into the quilts on display.
