In uncertain times, its important for us to take care of and be able to turn to our neighbors, which is why the Bahá’í Center in Urbana has offered to play host to our neighborhood’s first ever HEUNA Food Extravaganza! If you would like to donate, we are accepting the following items:
Food items: Canned/dry goods, baby food/formula, snack foods, sweet treats, baking essentials (flour, sugar, sweetener, yeast, etc), baking mixes and quick easy meals (cake mix, mac and cheese, etc), pet food/treats
Non food: New or clean, gently used hats/coats/gloves/scarves, winter clothes, unopened hygiene products, unopened cleaning products, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products.
**Feel free to bring homemade baked goodies to share with drive recipients and volunteers during event!**
Would you like us to do a porch pick up of your donations? Just ask one of the hosts. We’d be glad to do that for you!
Anyone wanting to volunteer? We could use help with the following:
Sorting donations on drop off days and arranging them for pickup on the day of the event
Set up/take down the evening before event and after event
Delivery drivers to help get items to recipients with disabilities or without transportation
General assistance during the event
**Sign up sheets to volunteer will be out during drop off times or you can message the event group or host to sign up**
If you need items delivered to you, please message an event host.
We hope for lots of success in helping as many neighbors as possible!
Donations can be dropped off at the Bahá’í Center on Thursday November 13th from 4-7, Sunday November 16th from noon to 5pm, and Thursday November 20th from 4p-7pm.
