
About this Event
The Historic Benton Harbor Bicycle Tour will take participants at a leisurely pace around the city of Benton Harbor to hear stories of Benton Harbor history and visit a number of interesting historical sites.
Highlights of the tour include sites of two former colleges that existed in Benton Harbor; three locations of Benton Harbor High School; the Flats, a historic African-American neighborhood; the House of David; an old railroad that crossed the river and had a downtown station; the beautiful mansions of the Pipestone historic district; Sunnyside Sanitarium, and many more.
The ride will last about 90 minutes, and cover about five miles at a pace of 10 miles per hour.
The tour is sponsored by the Morton House Museum (“The Home of Benton Harbor History”) and the ride will leave from the museum, located at 501 Territorial Road.
