Free-IN-PERSON Food Handler certification class presented by the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, Food Safety Education Program
About this Event

The State of Hawaii, Department of Health, Food Safety Program offers a free 2-hour certification class on safe food handling practices. This class will help you to understand and implement the sanitary requirements for proper food preparation, handling and storage.

The Certificate is earned by attending the class and passing the test that follows at the end of the presentation. This certificate will meet the requirement** of the Hawaii Administrative Rules, Chapter 11-50 Food Safety Code.

** 11-50-20(c) Food Protection Certification

(1) The person-in-charge shall demonstrate knowledge of basic food safety by successfully completing a food safety course that is part of a department food safety program or other program approved by the department.

FYI- If you plan to park in front of the building in the parking lot, please bring quarters. Parking is metered. It is one quarter per half hour. The class is approximatley two hours long, so you may want to bring 4-5 quarters with you. Otherwise, parking along the street is free.
