Get outside. Freedom was always yours.
About this Event

We are so excited to gather for our 100th event — the Hike to Yoga: Juneteenth + National Trails Day Mini Urban Retreat — a morning dedicated to nature, mindfulness, community, and collective rest.

One hundred mornings on the trail. One hundred opening circles. One hundred times this community chose to show up — for the land, for each other, and for themselves.

Each gathering is rooted in the belief that:

✨ Rest is rebellion

✨ Community is a human need

✨ We go farther together

✨ Your self-care is your contribution to world peace

This month's theme is: Trails Are Ours Too.

National Trails Day asks us to get outside. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom was always ours. Together, they invite us to ask: what does it mean to move freely on land that was not always meant to include us?

Hike to Yoga honors both by doing what we do best — showing up, together, on the trail. Because walking these paths as Black and Brown community members, as descendants of people who were denied access to public land, is not just wellness. It's reclamation.

We begin the morning rooted in the earth. A guided hike with reflection prompts will carry us through the land — asking who walked before us, what they carried, and what we're ready to put down. From there, we move through yoga in the open air, visibly and joyfully, as an act of belonging. We close in circle, grounded in what we're each reclaiming this season.

This is a space to arrive as you are, move at the pace that's right for you, and remember that healing has always been a collective act.

Open to all. Rooted in freedom. Rising together.

Hike to Yoga started with a simple idea: that when we heal in nature, we heal ourselves and each other. Today, it’s clear that environmental justice is inseparable from community care. Too many of our neighborhoods lack safe, healthy green spaces—just like ecosystems suffer when biodiversity is lost, people suffer when human diversity isn’t embraced. Hike to Yoga is about aligning people and the planet, building belonging through mindful hikes, yoga, and collective restoration. Our vision is to expand nationally, creating Peace Warrior hubs in every city with a park—because we believe healing is contagious, and together we can restore our land, our communities, and our humanity.
