Hike to ID Birds and Orchids at Eagle Creek Park
Join Central Chapter Members of Indiana Native Plant Society ("INPS") for an awesome in-person adventure! We'll be hiking through the beautiful trails of Eagle Creek Park, a great location to search for breeding birds and, with some luck, blooming orchids led by Wes Homoya with the Indiana Audubon. Perfect for nature lovers and anyone looking to learn more about local wildlife while enjoying fresh air and stunning views. Don’t miss this chance to explore and connect with nature up close!
Hike begins at 3 p.m.
Regarding parking and distance:
Parking-
Please park and meet at the Mayor's Garden parking lot just outside the 56th St entrance to Eagle Creek Park, from which we'll caravan into the park together to find suitable parking and start our hike. The Mayor's Garden lot is next to the Mary & John Geisse Soccer complex (coordinates of parking lot are 39.851455, -86.289173). We will depart this parking lot at 3:05pm, so please don't be late!
Distance- 1.5 to 2 miles on paved roads and grassy uneven ground that will likely be muddy in spots.
PLEASE NOTE:
Entrance into Eagle Creek Park requires an annual pass or purchase of a $6-8 daily pass per vehicle.
This event is limited to current members of INPS. Due to the anticipated popularity, membership will be confirmed prior to hike.
