Step into a snowy adventure with Friendscave! Join us for Hike Santa, a mystery winter hike that brings community, laughter, and a touch of holiday magic.
This is your chance to:
- Explore a secret winter wonderland outside Chicago (revealed only to ticket holders!)
- Connect and network with other Friendscave members
- Enjoy a moderate snow hike — adventure lovers and winter enthusiasts welcome
Event Details
Date & Time: December 13, 7:00 AM – 1PM (but plan for a 7-8 hours adventure shift!)
Meetup Location: Roosevelt CTA Red Line Station | 1160 S. State Street, Chicago, IL 60605
Trip Logistics (Time Estimates):
- Meet at Roosevelt CTA Red Line – 7:00 AM
- Walk together to Millennium Station – ~15 min
- Board Metra UP‑North Line toward mystery destination – ~1 hr 5–10 min train ride
- Walk from the station to mystery hike starting point – ~5–10 min
- Trip agenda will be shared upon arrival at Roosevelt CTA red line
Weather: The hike will continue regardless of weather, including snow or cold — come prepared with winter gear. Only a national emergency would cancel the event.
Tickets
- Student Ticket – $5. Access to the hike and group activities. Networking & community experience
- Regular Working Professional – $10. Access to the hike and group activities. Networking & community experience
- VIP Working Professional – $20. Access to the hike and group activities. Networking & community experience. VIPs will be entered into a 2026 raffle to get FC hiking swag!
Note: All ticket sales are final – no refunds. Snow or snow, we will go on the adventure. Only in case of national or state emergency then we will reschedule and tickets can be used for rescheduled event.
Participant Guidelines
- Dress warmly: winter boots, layered clothing, gloves, hat, traction gear if needed
- Bring: water, snacks, camera/phone, optional journal or small blanket
- Hiking level: Beginner friendly always
Participant Registration & Safety
- Name Tags: All participants will receive a name tag at check-in.
- Name tags must be worn at all times during the hike for identification and safety.
- Waiver of Liability & Safety Protocol: All participants are required to sign a waiver of liability issued by the State of Illinois and Friendscave.
- By signing, participants acknowledge the inherent risks of winter hiking and agree to participate responsibly. Important: You cannot join the hike without completing the waiver and wearing your name tag.
