We sure do hike often on the Rogue River Trail, don't we? That's a rhetorical question but the true answer is "Yes, we do!" But, can you blame us? After hiking one of Oregon's best trails, replete with epic canyon views, wildflowers, and forests with that odd little Siskiyou mix of myrtle, pine, cedar, fir, madrone, and oak trees, who wouldn't want to come back for another reprise of this spectacular hike?Map: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/2314208761

Distance: 7 miles
Elevation gain: 425 feet
Pluses: Stunning scenery, lush woodlands, and the Rogue River as a constant hiking companion. A short side-trip to Whiskey Creek Cabin offers a glimpse into what life was like back in the mining heyday of the Rogue.
Minuses: The trail is exposed and cliffy in places. Poison oak is abundant. It's not uncommon to find ticks, or more accurately, it's not uncommon for ticks to find you!

On the day of the hike: Meet at 8 am in the Douglas County Courthouse parking lot off of Fowler St., right behind the library building.
Bring water, lunch, and appropriate clothing for hiking.
If you are riding with somebody, be prepared to share gas expenses with your driver.
Please do not attend if you feel sick, are coughing, or have a fever.
The club hikes every other Saturday, rain or shine. Hiking is free, everybody is welcome.
