About this Event

Come explore a very different Bray to Greystones coastal trek, the Alt-Alt Cliff Walk!

Presenting the fourth in a new series of low tide coastal explorations, 'Smuggler's Paradise' brings you along the coast on a very low tide starting from Naylor's Cove in Bray partly towards Greystones.

Scramble over seaweed-covered rocks, explore sea caves and see the cliff walk from a whole new perspective 🏞️ 👀

For this lil adventure we'll be meeting on Saturday 21st March at 17:15 at the old Bray Head Hotel. We'll be out exploring for about 3 hours, with sunset happening at around 18:40. Along the way I'll be sharing knowledge & stories about the place (it has such a rich history) and encouraging others to do the same- so there should be lots of good chats! Being immersed in nature, we'll also be checking out the local ecosystems. with the option to do some foraging for seaweeds.

This exploration will be challenging at times as we'll be walking over some slippy seaweed-covered rocks, so good footwear is definitely recommended (waterproof hiking boots are probably the best option, oe wellies even).

There’s also an option to swim in the cove afterwards! 🏊

✅ Checklist (what to bring):

- Good footwear, hiking boots ideal (or wellies even)

- Lots of layers (wrap up warm)

- Some type of rain jacket

- Water

- Snacks for afterwards and/or a packed lunch (recommended)

- Swim gear & towel (optional)

- Hot drink (recommended)

🦔 Level: 3-4

⏰ Duration: 3 hours

📌 Location: Meeting at the old Bray Head Hotel (now new apartments called Fontenoy Place). Search ‘Fontenoy Terrace’ in Maps.

For those not driving we can try to arrange a carpool. Do let me know if you need a lift or can give a lift. There's also the option to get a Dart or bus to Bray, and walk along the seafront.

⚠️ Please note: This is a free outdoor social gathering. All activities (hiking, swimming etc) are optional and therefore undertaken at the participant’s own risk. As such, each individual is responsible for their own safety & welfare at all times 🙏

Off The Beaten is designed for anyone who wants to take the road less travelled and get closer to some wild nature. Check out Instagram to see more information and updates- Show your rough work
