Join the Florida Naturalist Experience Institute of Natural Conservation (FNE INC) for a springtime exploration of one of Florida’s most iconic natural treasures at Silver Springs State Park.
Sunday, March 15 | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
This immersive outdoor experience takes place in the lush landscapes surrounding Silver Springs, home to one of the largest and oldest artesian spring systems in the world. Renowned for its crystal-clear waters, Silver Springs has been drawing explorers, scientists, and nature lovers for centuries. The park protects a remarkable mosaic of sandhill, swamp, river, and hammock ecosystems, supporting an extraordinary diversity of wildlife—from wading birds and turtles to rhesus macaques, river otters, and countless native plant species.
Led by our Certified Florida Master Naturalists, guests will enjoy a guided interpretive hike through the park’s scenic trails, where towering hardwoods, palms, and spring-fed waterways reveal how freshwater systems shape Florida’s landscapes. Along the way, you’ll learn about the geology that creates artesian springs, the ecological importance of Florida’s groundwater, and the role Silver Springs plays in the history of conservation, film, and environmental science in the state.
After the hike, guests will gather for a chef-prepared, three-course gourmet meal served on-site, thoughtfully designed to complement the natural setting and celebrate seasonal Florida flavors. Prepared fresh outdoors, this shared meal invites connection, reflection, and community after a morning immersed in one of Florida’s most storied environments.
Whether you’re drawn by the educational experience, the beauty of the springs, or the opportunity to slow down and reconnect with nature, this event offers a meaningful way to engage with Florida’s freshwater heritage.
