Friday, May 3rd, 2024. An exciting night of performers for High Voltage at the Electric Lodge! This month’s show is all about mallet percussion, with pieces ranging from classical marimba to EDM vibraphone with playful video animations. An incredible lineup featuring performances by:

Jake Chapman - Jake Chapman is a vibraphonist, mallet percussionist, pianist, and composer from Los Angeles. He studied music at Columbia University, jazz vibraphone at Juilliard, and musical theatre songwriting in the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop. Jake maintains an active online presence, with 2 million followers across Instagram (chappymilkshake), YouTube (Jake Chapman) and TikTok (jakechapman). His recently released single “an angel will be with you shortly” is reaching audiences around the world. For High Voltage Percussion Night, he and his percussion buddies will be performing a few of his recent compositions.

Aaron Grooves - Aaron Grooves is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music educator. His passion for all forms of music-making have led him to become proficient in percussion, piano, tap dancing, singing, ukulele, live-looping, and many other instruments, which he utilizes to pursue his mission of spreading joy and elevating humanity. Aaron has achieved internet fame with his viral video "Mario on Marimba" and as the composer of "Jazzy Note Blocks", the music behind Alan Becker's "Note Blocks - Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts Episode 5" on YouTube. Aaron is also one half of the explosive duo group, Collision of Rhythm, where he performs, teaches, and keynotes all over the world with Bronkar Lee.

Plexusplay - PlexusPlay combines electronic dance music, live mallet percussion, and motion graphics in a dance music experience unlike any other. The brainchild of Matt DiBiase, PlexusPlay fuses melodic house and bass music, custom clothing, live improvisation, and dance-alongs for a show that’s as dazzling as it is impactful. Matt is continuously developing new technologies for his show, with movement and interactivity as the central pillars. PlexusPlay will be sharing a selection of songs from the main show he brings to dance music festivals, as well as a few new pieces he plans to release later this year.
