About this Event
This Saturday workshop is a deepening of our popular Advanced Following class from BAmF. After receiving so many questions and sparks of curiosity, we knew it was time for a full deep dive. This is your chance to refine, explore, and expand in ways we only scratched the surface before.
High Fidelity Dancing is about precision, clarity, and connection. Leads will learn to initiate with clean, consistent impulses. Follows will focus on responding without distortion—maintaining the integrity of the dance frame and the flow of the lead. Expect a lot of co-created feedback and moments of “aha” as we work to identify and release habitual noise in your dancing.
In the second hour, we’ll explore the Responsive Frame of the lead —from energetic intention to structural biomechanics. You’ll learn how to hold and fill space as a team, finding the ideal balance between flexibility and firmness, creativity and clarity.
Finally, in the 3rd hour, we will use these foundations to open up the exciting world of time and space bending. This is where following becomes pure artistry—stretching, delaying, or amplifying movement in ways that heighten tension and deepen expression. Leads learn to create containers for this magic to happen. The result: unforgettable, co-created dances that feel deeply satisfying. We intended to revisit some of the concepts discussed in BAMF and bring new material to the table.
By the end of this workshop, your dance will feel cleaner, more connected, and more alive. You'll leave with tools to refine your technique, elevate your partnerships, and unlock new creative potential. You can then go directly to Mission Fusion party, where A'lan will be DJing.
