About this Event
The Norfolk County Asylum at Thorpe St. Andrew, one of the first of its kind in the country, first opened in 1814 with provision for about a hundred 'pauper and criminal lunatics', and saw continued expansion over the following decades. Join us for this free workshop in which you'll engage with contemporary records to learn more about the asylum in the nineteenth century and uncover the 'hidden histories' of individual patients' experiences.
