About this Event
Join us for the launch of , during South Asian Heritage Month.
A new exhibition created through intergenerational storytelling, delivered by and supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Co-curated by Sawston Village College students, this exhibition brings together the voices, memories and experiences of members of the South Asian community in Cambridgeshire. At its heart is a series of oral history interviews, conducted by the students, offering personal insights into identity, migration, belonging and heritage.
The exhibition will remain open throughout the summer, until mid-September, but this launch event offers a special opportunity to experience it first, meet those involved, and celebrate the work together.
The evening will include short speeches and the chance to explore the exhibition, including an opportunity to listen to edited audio content from the interviews recorded by students.
Doors open at 6:00pm, with speeches beginning at 6:30pm. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
We warmly encourage all project participants, contributors, family and friends to join us for this special occasion, as well as project partners and stakeholders.
We are also delighted to welcome National Lottery players, whose support has helped bring this project to life, to join us at the launch. Just bring proof of purchase (such as a valid ticket or confirmation via the National Lottery app) for entry to the event.
