About this Event
HEY Made Smarter programme of workshops kicks of the 2026 programme where we are working in partnership with The Aura Innovation Centre Team at Hull University to provide a very practical workshop on the use and application of additive manufacturing (starting with the use of 3D printers) This event is designed for the sole purpose of supporting Hull & East Yorkshire manufacturing businesses to adapt digital technology solutions within their businesses
At the core of Additive Manufacturing 3D is the construction of a three-dimensional object from a CAD model or a digital 3D model. It can be done in a variety of processes in which material is deposited, joined, or solidified under computer control, with the material being added together, typically layer by layer. We are looking at support manufacturers who might be addressing their own need in design, testing, and prototyping tools for their own needs as well as possible support the creation of components for their clients.
But how can this be used by manufacturers and what is the point of additive manufacturing? This workshop will hopefully provide answers to these questions by practical speakers who are using the equipment for their clients. We will also explore at practical applications and type of equipment available to the manufacturing business. Furthermore, the workshop will seek to address the question of whether additive manufacturing can bring about cost savings or are their barriers to the manufacturing process which it can help in overcoming
The workshop is part of a package of service offered in partnership with The Aura Innovation Centre Team use of HISP funding and HEY Made Smarter Programme
The access the following package the mannufacturer business will need to register with https://www.madesmarter.uk/adoption/
