Hey Girl: An Empowerment Event for Teen Girls A day devoted to listen, motivate, uplift and support young women
About this Event
HEY GIRL EVENT

This is the first ever HEY GIRL event! I am Camille Brown; a Mom, active community member and small business owner. I am passionate about breaking generational curses, raising our kids with the support they need to change our world, and lover of good wholesome conversation. Saturday, June 11th is the kick start of what I hope to become a regular meet up, and life long support system made for young women. I feel it is incredibly important to offer all children, safe spaces to voice their thoughts, experiences, ask questions and discuss important topics with others.

In thinking about my life, and experiences in my teen years, I thought "what could I have gained from adults (unrelated to me) checking in on me, talking about certain topics, or listening to me with open ears". This thought motivated me to do this event. With hopes of creating a long term network of young ladies and women in the community... my aim is to bridge gaps, fill in missing pieces, lend ears and offer hands to support strong, smart, confident and capable future leaders.

FOR THE GIRLS - this event is for young women between the ages of 13 and 18

The day will offer a light lunch, refreshments, small gift, resources and info to take home. We will cover topics such as, but not limited to the following;

  • confidence / self-love
  • sex / sexual abuse
  • relationships
  • financial literacy / credit
  • future - college, workforce and entrepreneurship
  • drugs + alcohol
  • life skills - goal setting tactics, healthy habits and outlets

Nobody will be promted to speak or share if they do not choose to. This being the first event, the biggest intention is to hear and understand what the girls want to see from future events, and how we can best assist them. Spaces are limited, we want to make sure to have adequate space and supplies to remain COVID safe.
