Hero’s Unexpected Journey is about how anyone can find the Hero within, and all their hilarious f**k ups along the way. Inspired by the popularity of D&D live play shows, Hero’s Unexpected Journey is a semi improvised comedy adventure following the beats of Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey. Every show features a special guest - ideally a star of screen, stage, or the public eye - who takes up the hero’s mantle and joins a party of boon companions on their quest. The mysterious Lore Keeper sets the scene and interviews the newly chosen Hero, revealing their greatest gifts and darkest secrets, all of which will be necessary to complete their task. Seasoned improvisers, sketch writers, and performers serve our Hero as Boon Companions, fulfilling classic fantasy archetypes in their quest against a mysterious challenge and enemy.
