About this Event
On this walk we will encounter the drama of war, assassination, a death sentence, execution, tragedy and commemoration. We will learn stories of acts of great sacrifice, heroism and inspiration.
We will visit several iconic sites including buildings, statues and memorials linked to the military, royalty, politics, public service, the arts and national commemoration.
We will look at events that shaped history along with some key people who have made a difference. We begin with the horrors of the Crimean war and end with the promise of peace and the overcoming of death and destruction.
The walk will include statues such as those of Florence Nightingale and Nelson Mandela; memorials to Oscar Wilde, Horatio Nelson and the Women of World War II plus buildings such as The Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey and the Banqueting House.
This walk has been curated and is being led by Philip Scott a qualified London Guide. After the walk we will visit a lovely, cosy pub for a drink!
The group size is being kept small to comply with any social distancing recommendations, and with this in mind we are limiting the group size to 12.
